Coaching in Writing
Option #1
BEGINNING YOUR NOVEL
Dreaming about writing the great American novel?
Have hundreds of ideas but not sure which one to use?
Writers and authors are faced with this dilemma constantly. Once those creative ideas start rolling in, how do you know which one to use? They all sound great, but are they? Are they worth the effort?
The answer to that question is: YES.
If you have a story in your head, and you LIKE IT, then you need to do something with it. If YOU LIKE IT, then so will others. If it is a story worth telling, then it is worth writing.
Take your story idea and create it into a novel.
How long will it take?
If you are committed, you can write the first draft in 3 months or 12 weeks. James Scott Bell wrote a novel in 5 days and documented it into a book, but he is an experienced author, and it was a novella. According to Master Class, a novella is 20,000 to 50,000 words…
Side track: say you want to write a novella at 40,000 words. Divide that by 12 weeks and you need to write 3,333 words per week or 500 words per day (based on 6 days per week).
Still, with dedication and commitment, you can have a first draft of your story done in 3 months based on 500 words per day.
Ideas for stories are easy, getting them down on paper sometimes not so easy. This is where a writing coach can help you. A writing coach can help you stay focused when life decides to distract you.
Option #2
FINISHING YOUR NOVEL
Stuck in the middle of your manuscript? Can’t figure out where you should go from here? Plot holes? Cranky Characters? Disjointed Dialogue? OOOPS! Written yourself into a corner? Chapters out of sync? Writers frequently do that, even great writers. What can you do? Who you ‘gonna call? Ghost Busters? Hardly, although that might be fun.
Hint!
Call your writing coach.
One of the tools a writing coach or a book coach can provide is a GPS to get you back on track so you can reach your destination. A book coach can see the “light at the end of the tunnel” where all you see is darkness.
A writing/book coach can help you find the highway or route you need to take to complete your novel or novella or that 300-page, 90,000-word manuscript and format it into a plausible, readable, enjoyable, best seller ready for the final edit with a great editor. (Don’t tell me, I know, that is a terrible run-on sentence. Grammarly here I come.)
If this is where you are currently residing, seriously think about hiring a writing/book coach.
The solution may be closer than you think. Easier than your highest expectations. Faster than a speeding bullet. All it takes is your willingness to “bite the bullet” and get some help.

Option #3
READY TO PUBLISH
Is your book ready for publication? No matter which you choose, traditional publishing or self-publishing, both have a basic set of requirements.
1. Your manuscript MUST be edited by a professional editor.
2. The manuscript should be formatted into chapter form
3. The Manuscript Should Be The Best Finished Copy You Can Create. No Reader Wants To Read Bad Form.
4. Your manuscript should be composed in Microsoft Word. This is the industry standard.
If you are seeking either a traditional approach or a self-publishing approach for your book you have to decide two things:
How do you want to publish this book?
5. As a BEST SELLING BOOK or as a BEST SELLING AUTHOR. There is a difference, you know. This decision is more of a marketing decision but something to consider before you publish.
6. Another decision is your book size. 6 x 9 is the default size for KDP which is Kindle Direct Publishing for a print book. This brings up another decision, do you want to go strictly digital or an e-book format or do you want a print or paperback book?
7. To prepare for publishing, you will need to write your bio (biography) or your About the Author bio. And have a recent photo ready.
8. You will also need to write a synopsis of your story called in polite circles, your book description.
9. For self-publishers, you should conjure ap at least 7 keywords and decide which categorier to publish under.
10. For the traditional route you will need to start your search for the perfect agent to represent you and have your presentation letter ready (Your Pitch)
11. Understand that by publishing a book, either Traditional or Self-publishing, you have created the beginning of a business. Most publishers keep track of your royalties and that is considered income. You do receive a 1099.
Happy Days.
OPTION #4
PERSONAL COACHING
Sometimes life throws lemons and limes and even watermelons at us and we are totally at a loss. How do you resolve the situation amicably? Which direction should you go?
These are sometimes called life challenges and they are definitely life changing. Sometimes all you need is a friendly ear, someone discreet (not your best friend and not a counselor) Someone neutral to help you get back on track or move on. A coach can help you with that, also. They frequently wear the hats of mentor, guide, teacher, tutor, advisor, or friend. They also respect the client-coach relationship as a sacred bond.
A Personal Coach can work with you to understand situations from a different perspective. Depending on the situation, most life problems or roadblocks can be resolved quickly so you can move on with your life.
